Applegrove Farmacy - nourishing body, mind & soul

Welcome to Applegrove Farmacy, where every harvest is a labor of love on our family-run homestead! Let us nourish your body, mind and soul with food as medicine.
Here, we cultivate health through holistic practices and nutrient-rich food, prioritizing organic and permaculture methods.

Our commitment to the well-being of future generations involves not using commercial pesticides and fertilizers, allowing us to work in harmony with nature. Our orchards and gardens are complemented by the cheerful presence of goats and chickens which aid in the production of fertilizer, act as pest controls and keep weeds in check.

We want you to feel the satisfaction of producing your own food too, which is why we grow bareroot trees, such as nuts and berries, as well as early season vegetable starts. Our diverse products also include seasonal fruits and value-added culinary delights.

We believe in nurturing a healthy legacy by choosing open-pollinated and non-GMO seeds and feed, respecting nature's rhythm in every step of our farming process.

With natural water reduction and low-tech practices, we practice regenerative farming to nourish body, mind, and soul with food that's not just good for you, but good for the planet too.

Join us in sowing the seeds of a vibrant future, one delicious meal at a time.

🌱 Where Bats, Mealworms, Chickens, and Goats Team Up for Your Garden! 🦇🐔

At our farm, we’ve got a little help from our feathered and furry friends to grow the best plants around! Bats provide the guano, mealworms make the frass, and chickens and goats add their own special touch—creating nutrient-rich soil for strong, healthy, non-GMO, and organic plants. These plants aren’t just good for your garden—they’re packed with the nutrients your body needs to thrive. We’ve got the whole farm working together so you can enjoy healthy, homegrown food without the grocery store price tag.

Pre-order now for strong, vibrant plants and a garden that’s as happy as our animals! 🌿

Our Seeds

We only use seeds from trusted Canadian suppliers, such as West Coast Seeds, a family-owned supplier located in Vancouver, BC, and McKenzie Seeds, located in Brandon, MB.

Our seeds are organic, non-GMO and chemical free. When possible we choose open-pollinated and heirloom varieties that are well adapted to the Kootenay growing conditions.

Our Soil

Seeds are planted in compost produced on our own farm from goat and chicken manure, leaves, grass clippings and kitchen scraps. To give them the best start, they are lightly fertilized with Gaia Green organic fertilizer as well as bat guano and mealworm frass from our on production.

Water, Electricity & Manual Labour

In keeping with a natural lifestyle, plants are watered with untreated mountain water and grown under grow lights powered with solar electricity. We don't use any machinery, but care for each plant by hand - from start to finish. This includes hand watering and pruning - and tickling tomatoes for stronger stalks.

Your Gain

1. You will receive strong, healthy plants that will produce high yields of nutrient-rich food.

2. You can start planning your 2025 garden while it's still cold and grey outside.

3. You will know exactly what plants you will receive ahead of time.

4. No spindly, root-bound plants covered in fungus gnats.

5. No plants of uncertain origins due to uncontrolled cross-pollination.

4. Peppers are hand-pruned for bushier growth.
